Description Project 1: School Wide collection of items to donate to two local non-profit organizations
(G.R.Y.D and Recycled Resources) to help the people who are living in transit in Highland Park.
Purpose Project 1: In these times of economic changes and hardship in our community, we want to be leaders in caring for the individuals and families of our community that are living in transit. We want to show that taking a even a small step, gathering donations, can have a positive impact in the lives of members within our community and send a message that the community cares for their well being.
Time of the Event Project 1: During Advisories
Materials Needed: Event Flyers, Donation Boxes
Project 2: Animal Awareness Week
Project 2: Mon. Tues. Thurs. Fri. During Lunch

Peanut butter, Flour, Trays, plastic gloves, Feathers, corks, Hot glue sticks, Hot glue guns, Cotton pieces of cloth
Project 3: Animal Supply Giveaway
Project 3: April 16 Afterschool 3:30-4:30pm
Location: Luther Burbank MS
Materials Needed: Leashes, collars, pet beds, pet pads, hamster wheels, turtle food, bird seed, dog/cat treats, animal clothes, pull toys, balls
Description of Projects 2 & 3: Students from Luther Burbank MS will come to the Animal Awareness Week events to learn from GBLA members on how to make low-cost treats and toys as well as become informed about how to best care for their pet's physical and mental well being. At the Animal Supply Giveaway guests will receive free products to care for their pets physical health and mental-well being.
Purpose of Projects 2 & 3: Our animals and their owners need financial support in the face of economic changes and hardship in the community. We want to be leaders in the building of relationships with new businesses and families that have recently moved into the area. The project lets us serve as advocates for animals and also advocate for greater investment by the new business in the needs and well-being for the families of Luther Burbank Middle School.

Establish planning group and appoint a lead team member.

Hold planning meeting for event goals and details (How often? When? Where?).
